Roman history is very generally divided into two parts: the Republic controlled by the Senate and two Consuls that came first, then the Empire as controlled by Emperors. The early Republic is reviewed in this film, it takes us farther than the discussion on page 168 but it's still good background information to have now.
At this point in our studies, we have learned a fair amount of information and a pause is in order to review. You have a very good idea of this language's structure and logic. Let's start with a review of the material so far. Take this exercise --patiently --as it covers all material so far. Perfect scores are not the point, it's the process of the review and recall.

Since we are discussing the cultural influences of Greece on Rome, read about Eavesdropping on page 178 and 179. Now review with this section:

On page 172 is the picture of the story told the boys, Marcus and Sextus, by the soldier in the previous Chapter. What's it about? Do you think impressionable boys will sleep well tonight in strange beds in a strange inn? Was the soldier serious or playing with them? With that in mind, you have some background to help translate the story on page 173, and it extends onto page 174. Translate into your notebooks with numbered sentences.
Use the blog, Tuus Blogus, if you have grammar questions or also ask your teacher. Just formulating a question takes learning because you have to realize what confuses you. That is already an answer too: the point is you have to know something to even ask a question.
